Hook, Line & Sinker
Hook, Line & Sinker is a collection of fish stories told by Missouri anglers. These tales capture the essence of fishing - nostalgia, nature, camaraderie, and exaggeration. Fishing folklore is an important part of the state’s cultural heritage and worthy of preservation.

Mark Morgan, a former Fulbright scholar, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism at the University of Missouri. His teaching and research interests emphasize the social aspects of natural resource management, including recreational fishing.
Praise for Hook, Line & Sinker
"Every angler has a fish story, or a hundred of them, but few are as eloquent as the ones in this book. By word and example, Mark Morgan shows why our connection to the natural world is so important. Don't let this one get away."
--Richard Louv, author of "Last Child in the Woods" and "Fly-Fishing for Sharks: An Angler's Journey Across America.
"Fishing is so much more than catching fish. It’s about time spent enjoying the great outdoors, and making memories with family and friends. Hook, Line & Sinker may not teach you how to fish, but it certainly teaches you why you should fish."
--Brandon Butler, Past-President, Missouri Outdoor Communicators
"A good story is always worth paying attention to--but a good fish story is worth its weight in fun. And this collection is trophy weight without even stretching the truth."
--Joel M. Vance, writer, Missouri Dept. of Conservation (retired)
