IT SERVICES
Mizzou is a technology-oriented campus. The Division of Information Technology (DoIT) provides the IT services and resources necessary for students to be successful at Mizzou.
As a partner with TigerTech, DoIT operates a service desk right in The Mizzou Store to help you with basic issues. If a hardware problem involves more than a “quick-fix,” certified technicians will diagnose and repair your computer.
Student Email
Your MU email account is where you receive all official University communication. To activate your email account, follow the instructions at webmail.missouri.edu. Student email addresses are PawPrint@mail. missouri.edu.
Mizzou TigerCard
Use Mizzou TigerCard student ID all around campus to charge purchases at The Mizzou Store, enter the Rec Center or residence hall, eat at Campus Dining Services and more. Go to the ID Office in the lower level of The Mizzou Store to have a TigerCard made. A valid U.S. government-issued photo ID (driver license, passport, or state ID) is required. Be prepared to have your photo taken. Students are charged $15 to replace a lost ID card.
TigerCard Manager
Students use the TigerCard Manager to manage a TigerCard account, view transaction history, freeze a lost ID card and designate guests who will be able to make credit card deposits to their Campus Dining Services Prepaid EZ Charge account. This protects you from fraudulent charges.
Mizzou Cable TV
Included in the room rate, each residence hall room has Mizzou Cable TV offering 60 channels, including major networks. Students provide a cable-ready TV and coaxial cable to plug into the cable hook-up.
Computing Sites
DoIT provides more than 40 sites across campus for your use. Sites offer Windows, Mac and Linux workstations. Software includes: Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Mathematica and computational software. Visit doit.missouri.edu/sites for locations.
Print Anywhere
Print Anywhere allows students with personal computers to use Print Smart printers located across campus. Students with personal computers can install Print Anywhere from doit.missouri.edu/printing/ print-anywhere.html.
Printing on Campus
All computing sites host a black laser printer capable of printing 8.5x11 or 11x17 inches. Select sites offer color printers and a plotter. Printing fees are based on page size and color. Undergraduate students receive an annual, nonrefundable $35 print allowance for printing on campus. Graduate students receive a $50 allowance.
Students enrolled in the summer semester receive an additional $7. Any Print Smart overage is charged, per page, to your student account. Track your usage online at doit.missouri. edu/printing/print-smart.html.
Laptop Checkout
Students presenting their TigerCard may check out a laptop at no charge for a two-hour period. Checkout locations include the MU Student Center, Cornell Hall, Memorial Student Union, Ellis Library, McDavid Hall, and Engineering Library Technology Commons. The laptop may only be used in the building in which it was checked out, and the student is responsible for any loss or damages.
Wireless
MizzouWireless provides wireless Internet service for about 90 percent of campus, including indoor and outdoor areas.
Most computers recognize StartHere- MizzouWireless, the configuration wizard to use when connecting to MizzouWireless for the first time.
If not, configuration instructions are available online at help.missouri. edu. If you need help connecting your device to MizzouWireless, you can take it to the Tech Support located in TigerTech.

Wired Internet
Each residence hall room has a high-speed Ethernet connection for each student. Remember to bring an Ethernet cable! Individual residence hall rooms DO NOT have wireless access, but many of the residence hall common areas do. If you need help, Tech Support will visit your room. Make an appointment online at restech.missouri.edu.
Unauthorized Wireless Routers are prohibited. However, wired routers are acceptable.
Virtual Private Networking
Several MU IT resources are restricted to on-campus users. Virtual Private Networking (VPN) provides a secure, encrypted method to access these resources from off-campus. For more information and to download the VPN client from anyconnect.missouri.edu.

IT Help Desk
Technology questions can be directed to the IT Help Desk at (573)882-5000. Technicians are available weekends and evenings along with normal business hours.
ResTech
The ResTech program offers free in-room support to residence hall students. ResTechs help resolve issues concerning computers, software, telephone, voicemail, and cable television. Make an appointment online at restech.missouri.edu.
IT Training
DoIT offers free training on Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, web design, web programming and movie production and animation. Register for these 2-4 hour long courses or view training materials at training. missouri.edu.
Adaptive Computing Technology (ACT) Center
The ACT Center assists people with learning, visual and mobility impairments to access technology. Visit the ACT Center at N18 Memorial Student Union or call (573)884- 2828 for a consultation. An adaptive workstation with specialized equipment and software is available at Ellis Library. Adjustable work stations are available in many computing sites.
