Since its establishment in 1946, the University of Missouri’s College of Veterinary Medicine has employed the latest technologies to lead the field of veterinary medicine. The college’s doctor of veterinary medicine professional program boasts a unique curricular structure that provides nearly two years of hands-on training in general and specialty clinics.
Years one and two of the four-year program focus on instruction in high-tech, computer-based classrooms and labs. Years three and four provide clinical instruction in areas such as ophthalmology, cardiology, orthopedics, oncology, community medicine, shelter medicine, emergency and critical care, and food animal and equine medicine and surgery.
Students in the professional veterinary curriculum are required to have a laptop for study and to conduct research. Familiarity with the latest computing technology enables the next generation of veterinarians to excel in any veterinary field they pursue.
