The Muralist’s Ghost
The Muralist’s Ghost is a historical novel based on true life artist Maxo Vanka’s experiences while painting social justice murals in St. Nicholas Croatian Catholic Church in Millvale, Pennsylvania. Part mystery, part retrospective, Maxo believes that a ghost appears to him and him alone as he works long, late hours in the church. He explores his past to try and learn who it might be. But when one of his paintings is ruined and the church sustains some damage, he realizes that a more corporal danger lurks behind the deeds, and he and his good friend, Father Zagar, work as a team to piece together some answers before someone is harmed.
