Software Recommendations: Microsoft Office is required for basic needs and is available free of charge via MS Office 365. Some additional software may be required for certain courses—instructors will provide this information to students as necessary. Many business courses require Excel, and students using macOS may face compatibility issues with Excel and other software. Faculty strongly recommend using a Windows 11 PC for Accountancy, Finance, Marketing Analytics, and Operations Management courses.
Hardware Recommendations: The Trulaske College of Business supports both Dell™ and Apple® devices and recommends using Windows 11 or macOS X 14 (Sonoma) or higher. A 3-year minimum accidental warranty is advised.
Recommended Purchases: The Trulaske College of Business supports both Dell™ and Apple® devices and recommends using the most current operating software. The department primarily uses Dell, but any Windows- or Apple-based computer with a minimum of the following models and specifications are acceptable.
We also highly recommend that students purchase an extended warranty that covers accidental damage, like AppleCare+ or CPS
