Journalism students use a variety of multimedia tools that require using laptop computers. A laptop is vital to a journalist because it allows them to report and edit on the go. At all levels of study, the School of Journalism takes a multi-platform approach to its curriculum. Recommended Purchases
The School of Journalism requires all students to have a laptop computer capable of running the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of editing tools. Please note certain cloud-based laptops such as Chromebooks do not meet this standard.
Students are expected to purchase an Adobe Creative Cloud license annually. Licenses are available at a significant discount with your university ID through the University of Missouri’s Division of Information Technology.
Students are also required to install Microsoft Office 365 Suite, provided by the University of Missouri’s Division of Information Technology at no cost.
